GIN MAGAZINE AWARDS
28th March 2019
The Gin Magazine Awards take place to celebrate and reward the finest companies, individuals and products in the gin industry.
Dingle Distillery and Diageo took home major awards on a night of celebration at the Honourable Artillery Company in London, as Gin Magazine hosted its annual awards dinner for the gathered trade. Irish producer Dingle took home the coveted title of World’s Best Gin for its Original Gin in the World Gin Awards. It also won the title of World’s Best London Dry Gin.
Diageo won the award for Producer of the Year in Gin Magazine’s Icons of Gin Awards, following a year of development across its brands.
Edinburgh Gin also enjoyed success on the night, with its distiller, David Wilkinson, taking home the title of Distiller of the Year and the distillery winning Distillery Attraction of the Year. The Kyoto Distillery proved triumphant in the hotly contested Craft Producer of the Year category. The evening concluded with Gin Magazine publisher Damian Riley-Smith announcing Jon Hillgren from Swedish producer Hernö and Christopher Hayman of Hayman’s as inductees to the Gin Magazine Hall of Fame. Gin Magazine’s editor Sam Coyne said, “In what has been another excellent year of innovation and growth for the gin industry, it’s been a pleasure to present tonight’s awards. The Icons of Gin Awards have taken off after last year’s launch, while the World Gin Awards are more competitive than ever with entrants from across the globe. Congratulations to all our entrants, nominees and winners and of course, thank you to our sponsors.”
