Whisky Magazine is turning 25 this month and will be celebrating its anniversary year in style, with a commemorative publication and competitions with the chance to win £1,000 worth of whisky.
Issue one of
Whisky Magazine was launched at an event in Scotland on 20 November 1998, and the magazine – which is dedicated to celebrating the whiskies of the world – has since gone from strength to strength. Published eight times a year, it is now a global authority on the world of whisky with stories covering individual distilleries, whisky regions, production, bars and cocktails, and whisky history and culture written by award-winning spirits writers.

Whisky Magazine (#196, publishing 8 December in the UK) will be a commemorative edition with supplementary content looking back at the past quarter-century, including some of the best new distilleries to have opened since 1998, a celebration of some of the industry's key figures, and blind tastings of a selection of 25-year-old whiskies.
The magazine is also running a spectacular global competition offering four people the chance to win £1,000 worth of whisky. Launching on 20 November 2023 and running until January 2025, four globally recognised whisky brands –
Teeling Whiskey in Ireland,
Tullibardine in Scotland,
Kavalan in Taiwan, and
Breckenridge in Colorado, USA – are offering whisky lovers the chance to win £1,000 of their whisky, purchased from a retailer in their local market. The competition is open to anyone, but Whisky Magazine subscribers will be automatically entered.
